Herb Garden Green Beans

Tools Needed

  • 1 large saucepan

  • 1 chef’s knife

  • 1 cutting board

  • 1 colander

  • 1 set dry measuring cups

  • 1 set measuring spoons

  • 1 large spoon

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans

  • 1/3 cup minced onion

  • 1/4 cup minced celery

  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley

  • 2 tsp fresh basil

  • 1 tsp fresh rosemary

  • 1 clove garlic

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 4 Tbsp butter

Steps

  1. Bring a large saucepan of water to boil. Rinse the green beans and trim off the ends. Cook the green beans in boiling water for 5 minutes. Drain them in the colander and let them cool.

  2. Finely mince the onion and celery. Wash and dry the fresh parsley, basil, rosemary, and garlic, and finely mince.

  3. Melt the butter in the saucepan over medium-low heat. Add the onion and celery and cook until they are soft but not browned, about 5 minutes.

  4. Add the parsley, basil, rosemary, garlic, and salt, and cook for 3 more minutes. Add the green beans and toss to combine. Cook just until the beans are heated through.
